This is a disguise of Ireneo Funes, who in reality, is S.W. Erdnase.
Despite this, however, he tries to help the protagonist before the last game by slipping a fifth ace into the deck after the Comte allows him to cut the deck. He basically allows the protagonist to choose who ends up where in which of the many endings.
