The Comte de Saint-Germain is a major character in Card Shark. He is a noble man who aids the protagonist by teaching him a variety of things. He's the protagonist's primary educator in various card tricks.
Background[]
Over the vast majority of the course of the game, he aids the protagonist in a mostly educational manner and most particularly with cards and card tricks. However, he does so in a way to make him act more like a professional gambler. He also educates him about writing, presumably reading, and about the upper class people.
Despite being a cheater and a con-artist, he has donated his rewards to Romani orphans and widows, the people whom have taught him his skills that were taught by him to the protagonist. This makes him serve as The Mentor to the protagonist.
In one of the endings, during a rant that he was making, the Comte will reveal the amount of time he spent teaching the protagonist all of the card tricks that he did.
Death[]
He was sent to Guyana with the protagonist and Erdnase. However, soon after arriving, he passes away. In one ending, however, the Comte allows him to live freely and visit the protagonist in Pau. However, years later, he dies in a duel in Paris.
